  • 1 tsp. of cumin
  • ¼ tsp. of turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp. of Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp. of coriander powder
  • ¾ tsp. of salt
  • 3 tsp. of oil
  • Two cups of water
  • 4 tbsp. of finely chopped coriander

Now, let’s make some delicious Tomato Shorba

  • Heat 3 tbsp. of oil in a large Kadai on medium heat.
  • Add the bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and cumin.
  • Saute this mixture till it turns aromatic.
  • Now, as the ginger garlic paste into this and saute till its raw aroma disappears.
  • Next, add the gram flour and roast it until the gram flour turns golden brown.
  • Once done, add 2 tbsp. of the chopped coriander into the mixture and combine it well.
  • Add the diced tomatoes and saute them until they turn soft and mushy.
  • Once that happens, add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper and salt to it. Saute it until the spices turn aromatic.
  • Next, add the water to this mixture and boil it for 30 minutes.
  • Finally, take tomatoes and mash them well to extract all the juice from them to the shorba.
  • At last, add the rest of the chopped coriander to the pan.
  • Your Tomato shorba is ready. Enjoy!
